Basic Underground Induction Awareness

Purpose of the Basic Underground Induction

The purpose of the Basic Underground Induction is to ensure that all employees, contractors, and visitors entering the underground mining environment are equipped with the essential knowledge and awareness to operate safely and responsibly. The induction provides a foundational understanding of legal requirements, site-specific risks, emergency procedures, and health and safety protocols.

This induction is compulsory for:

• All new employees (permanent and temporary)

• Contractors and service providers

• Visitors entering the underground areas

• All inductions to be renewed on a 12 monthly basis.

The module content is comprised of 9 sections. Successful completion of all modules and achieving a 90% score on the assessment are required to receive a certificate of completion.
